Cookies for breakfast? Doesn’t sound too bad, right? Chewy, mildly sweet, sugary yet not so sugar and finally guilt-free low caloried, quick, pop-in-the handbag before you leave the house kind of cookies! Also, I hate ripe fruit esp banana, so these quick banana oatmeal breakfast cookies are a nice choice to replace your boring porridge as well as to avoid food wastage. Even better, if you mix some protein powder and perfect for as your post-workout meal without the need of buying any fancy bars added with loads of preservatives.
If you are still not convinced let me tell you these will hardly need less than 30 minutes from start to finish and even a 8-year old can handle the whole process.
How are these banana oatmeal breakfast cookies ideal for weight loss?
You are not adding any white flour or refined sugar to these cookies making them really very low-calorie option. Oats obviously are relatively complex carbs that has also good fibre content in them which is the key for weight loss. Now sugar in any form is not a great ingredient for weight loss meal but since we also don’t want to compromise our taste and need the plan to be a sustainable one addition of pure honey makes it a good choice.
How to consume these banana breakfast cookies?
Any food when you eat more than required will give you excess weight. Ideally, any slimming plans would suggest you eat 30g of oats or 2 slices of brown bread for breakfast coupled with fibre rick fruits and vegetables. So same principle applies here, you can combine these cookies with some fresh fruit or a glass of juice to make it an ideal breakfast.
Alternatively, you can pack them and place in your handbag or car glove box for a quick snack or post-workout meal.
What are the ingredients to make banana oatmeal breakfast cookies?
All you need is some oats, ripened banana, honey or maple syrup and some chocolate chips as optional. If you don’t have chocolate chips, use some regular chocolate cut into small pieces or probably raisins too!
